Sleep Studies (Polysomnography)
Polysomnography (PSG) is used to diagnose sleep disorders including Restless leg syndrome, Narcolepsy, Sleep Apnea , Parasomnias, and REM behavior disorder. Sleep studies are most commonly ordered for patients experiencing daytime fatigue or sleepiness that’s usually caused by fragmented sleep.
PSG recordings utilize a variety of different modailites including but not limited to muscle activity (EMG), heart rhythm (ECG), brain (EEG), and eye movement (EOG), & respirations.
