ECoG Electrocorticography
The intraoperative recording of potentials from the cortical surface. As part of an evaluation for epilepsy surgery, electrodes may be placed near the surface of the brain in a modality referred to variously as "electrocorticography (ECoG)", "intracranial EEG (I-EEG)" or "subdural EEG (SD-EEG)". Depth electrodes may also be placed into brain structures which are common epileptic foci and may not be "seen" clearly by scalp EEG.
